Don't know how I should feel

Posted in Group:

I broke up with my boyfriend of two and a half years about a month ago. Things ended very abruptly after he told me he was seeing his ex and had feelings for her which made him doubt his feelings for me. There was a lot more to it than that but that's not the point. I feel like by now I should be feeling better; more healed. I've been doing everything I can: studying a lot for school, working out, eating healthy, being with friends and family but I still can't get him out of my head! Everyday, all day, he's like this annoying fruitfly stuck in my brain that won't go away! This was my first real relationship, and the first guy I've loved. Is this normal to still feel this way, or is there something wrong with me?

Ending a relationship is hard, one that lasts for years is even harder. Being in a relationship establishes patterns, you do the same things, he does certain chores, you do others, you hang out with the same friends, etc.. While you may miss the guy you once loved, you probably miss the comfort of the relationship more.

This is totally normal and as time progresses you will eventually notice the annoying "fruit fly" moments lessen.

Continue to do what you are doing!
